Pasta and Pomodoro: Handmade Pasta and Fresh Passata Cooking Class

  • Hub of the Hills 8 Craig Street Mundaring, WA, 6073 Australia (map)

There’s something truly special about turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary — and in this cosy, hands‑on workshop, I’ll show you just how fun, creative and satisfying pasta making can be.

Together, we’ll make a beautiful pasta dough using only flour and water, and then learn several hand rolled shapes. As a group, you'll take part in a mini passata‑making demonstration where you’ll help prepare, cook and bottle fresh tomatoes. Then we’ll use your passata to create classic sauces to pair with your handmade pasta. It’s simple, joyful cooking — the way it’s meant to be.

This style of pasta is wonderfully forgiving and perfect for beginners. It's even vegan, so everyone can enjoy no matter their dietary needs. No special equipment, no fuss — just good ingredients, good company and a really good time.

What you’ll learn

By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel confident in:

  • Making your own semola pasta dough from scratch

  • Create classic pasta shapes with minimal tools

  • Understanding dough texture, hydration and how to troubleshoot it

  • How to prepare fresh tomatoes for passata and safely bottling it

  • Turning your passata into simple, classic sauces

  • Choosing the right flour, knowing where to buy it locally, and storing/drying pasta

  • Expanding your skills at home with additional shapes and variations

These are practical, repeatable skills you’ll use long after the workshop is over.
